Oh My Eyes was founded in the spring of 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden by husband and wife duo Jonna and Christopher Hunt. Their backgrounds in lifestyle journalism and portrait photography meant many new encounters with unique characters and creative minds. So much so that it sparked an interest in building a brand that would uplift them, and add to peoples’ character. »In the eyes of curious minds« became a brand mantra. Sunglasses was the perfect fit. This coupled with an awe for high quality craftsmanship and cutting edge design, lead to Oh My Eyes.
It’s all about character
We’re all about creating confidence through our design, regardless of who you are. Mostly we do street casting to shoot interesting people, rather than going through model agencies. For us it’s all about creating trust and genuine relationships and we think we do that best by forming friendships along the way. We’re all about lifting your unique traits through our design. Meet some of the people and their stories in our digital magazine.
Oh My Eyes’ sunglasses are handmade in Sabae, Japan, which is where Japanese eyewear production started more than 100 years ago. Craftsmen from Sabae were the first to produce frames in light yet robust titanium, which is nickel-free and corrosion resistant. We only source the best possible materials and quality lenses. Ninety percent of the people of Sabae work within the eyewear industry. Skilled artisans craft each and every detail by hand. Whether it is making temples, small metal parts, glazing of the lenses or plating of metal colours, they all have their own expertise that together makes up the final high-end product. Our frames are inspired by Scandinavian modernism; we wanted to move away from the typical Scandinavian minimalism and add more shapes and colour to eyewear design. Architecture is one such field we have looked at, and is envisioned in the photo art series Modern Buildings by Mårten Ryner who has captured the rich modernist heritage in our hometown Stockholm. Each customer gets a signed edition print with the glasses.
By teaming up with skilled eyewear designers we get their view on our philosophy. First up to interpret our brief was Italian eyewear designer Marco Galleani who has worked in the eyewear industry since the 1980s. He is renowned for his unique take on eyewear design and has created six unisex frames. Read more about his take on Scandinavian modernism.

Made to last
Oh My Eyes was born out of the idea to create a quality eyewear brand which goes against the fast-fashion cycle. We believe that the fashion industry should do more to care for the environment. We do everything we can to research the best possible materials, always with sustainability in mind. Our acetate is made from the natural materials cotton and wood. And our cases are handmade from chrome-free leather in a family-run workshop in the heart of Småland, Sweden, known for its long tradition of craftsmanship. Read more about the production process.
After all we are all about sustainable consumption where we encourage people to buy quality over quantity – not only when it comes to design but also the actual style. We constantly analyse trends to filter out what are just fashion fads rather than new or returning style elements that will remain on trend during a long period of time.
